A note to a parent

OK, but where do I begin?

There is enough guidance on this website to bring you real perspective and give you insight into what is happening with your children and screens. You do not need the book to start seeing change. Everything here came from research I had done for my own family. I needed clear and practical answers quickly, but also a solution that would actually work, so I researched this. I also wanted to understand the psychology behind what I was up against. What I found answered enough for me to tackle this effectively, and it worked well enough that I wanted to put it in front of other parents. I know many parents who are struggling and simply don't know what to do.

Two places on the site will show you where to begin. The Articles page will give you insight. Each article opens up one piece of the puzzle, so you can see clearly what is going on behind the screens and why children respond the way they do. The Free Resources page will give you practical tools that you can use straight away. There are printables, guides, and frameworks that have been tested in real homes, including ours.

Even without reading the book yet, these resources will be enough to bring noticeable change in many families. Start there. Become informed and empower yourself to take back control.

Each book chapter tab has a short overview at the top, so you can see exactly what will be covered before you dive into the chapter itself. The book will walk you through, in detail, the psychology of what is really going on. This knowledge is what will empower you. Without real understanding, just being given a step-by-step instruction manual is not going to be sustainable. The book shows you what to look out for at each stage, and how to approach it systematically and avoid the common mistakes along the way.

Just start with an Article or a Free Resource. That is all it takes to begin.
